1. Overview
A hydraulic decoiler is a critical starting equipment in metal coil processing lines (e.g., steel, aluminum, or stainless steel coils). It is designed to smoothly unwind coiled metal materials and provide continuous, stable feeding for downstream processes like stamping, roll forming, or cutting. Powered by a hydraulic system, it offers high load capacity, flexible adjustment, and stable operation.
2. Core Components & Functions
Hydraulic System:
Driven by a hydraulic power unit, it controls mandrel expansion/contraction, rotation, and vertical lifting. Features high torque and stepless speed adjustment to handle coils of varying weights (1-30 tons) and speed requirements.
Expandable Mandrel:
Hydraulically adjusts the mandrel diameter (e.g., Φ450mm to Φ600mm) to tightly grip the coil's inner hole, preventing slippage.
Support Arms & Base:
Equipped with hydraulic lifting arms for coil loading and a heavy-duty base for stability and vibration reduction.
Centering Guide (Optional):
Hydraulic or manual adjustment ensures material alignment during feeding to prevent deviation.
Back Tension Braking System**:
Hydraulically controlled reverse tension prevents loose unwinding or over-stretching, ensuring smooth operation.
3. Working Principle
1. Loading:
Place the metal coil onto hydraulic support arms via overhead crane or forklift. Activate the hydraulic system to expand the mandrel and clamp the coil's inner hole.
2. Unwinding:
The hydraulic motor rotates the mandrel to unwind the coil. Back tension synchronizes with downstream equipment (e.g., levelers or feeders).
3. Adjustment:
Hydraulic valves regulate speed, tension, and lifting height to accommodate material thickness (0.2-8mm) and line speed.
4. Key Advantages
High Load Capacity: Handles heavy coils (width >2000mm, weight >20 tons) for thick or high-strength materials.
Precision Control: Hydraulic servo technology adjusts tension and speed in real time, minimizing surface scratches or deformation.
Broad Compatibility: Adjustable mandrel diameter suits coils with inner holes (Φ450-800mm), enabling quick material changes.
Low Maintenance: Sealed hydraulic systems resist contamination, ideal for harsh industrial environments.
